The City Convenience at 700 Commonwealth Ave. was robbed on Monday evening by a man who claimed to have a firearm, Boston University Police Department officials said.
According to an emergency email alert sent by BUPD officials on Monday evening, the suspect, who carried a syringe as he robbed the store, is a white male whose face was covered by a hooded sweatshirt.
Members of BUPD and the Boston Police Department have searched the area extensively, but the suspect has not been caught.
“The subject was not apprehended,” said BUPD Lieutenant Robert Casey in a phone interview.
However, he said BUPD members are continuing to investigate the robbery.
“We’re looking at video surveillance right now,” Casey said.
No injuries were reported following the robbery, and no firearm was shown despite the suspect’s threats, according to the email.
The amount and value of the objects the suspect stole is “still undetermined,” Casey said.
