Dorchester man robs pizza delivery man with BB gun

The following reports were taken from Allston Brighton’s District 7 crime logs from March 20 to April 1.

Using a BB gun, a Dorchester man robbed a pizza delivery man last Thursday night as he was delivering a pizza to an apartment at 1625 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton.

Officers found Darnell Martin, 18, sitting in the bathroom of the apartment where the pizza was to be delivered.

When a delivery man for Little Pizza King stepped inside the foyer of the apartment, he felt an object on the back of his head.

“Don’t look at my face,” Martin screamed twice.

The deliveryman immediately spun around and stared down the barrel of a black handgun. Martin ordered the delivery man to drop the pizza box and run.

After receiving a 911 call from the deliveryman, police knocked on the door of the Commonwealth Avenue apartment.

Officers explained the situation to the apartment’s resident, who than told officers the man was sitting in their bathroom.

When officers entered the bathroom, they found Martin next to large wad of money and delivery receipts as well as a black BB gun.

Officers later determined Martin, who resides in the same apartment complex, used his neighbor’s cellular phone to order the pizza.

Electronic Shock Wave

An unidentified robber broke into an apartment at 90 Gardner St. last Wednesday evening and stole $7,600 worth of electronics.

The apartment’s resident told police the robber entered her apartment through an unlocked bathroom window and stole computers, cameras and the victim’sforeign passport and social security card.

Police have no suspects in the break-in.

Explosive Behavior

A taxi-cab driver threatened to blow up another cab early Saturday morning in Allston.

After completing his shift, the cab driver parked in front of a Store 24 on his way home. As he walked out of his car, an independent cab pulled in behind him, blocking him in the space.

When the first driver asked the second driver to move, he said he would not and threatened the first driver.

“I’ll kill you and blow up your cab,” the unknown driver said.

The first driver immediately called police on his cell phone. As he picked up the phone, the second driver left the area down Commonwealth Avenue.

Lotto Loser

An unknown man stole more than 4,000 lottery tickets from a convenience store at 165 Allston St. in Brighton early Saturday, March 25.

Officers observed the man on store surveillance, clad in all black, stuff the tickets into a box and exit the store.

The window to the front door remained open when officers arrived.

Two men broke inside two Brighton women’s apartment at 40 Orchard Rd.

Saturday morning, March 25, and beat them with a wooden club before stealing electronics.

The men, apparent acquaintances of the residents, forcibly entered the apartment and beat the first woman with a wooden club. The second man than grabbed the second resident by the neck and threw her to the ground.

After attacking the residents, the assailants stole $700 in electronics.
